Three Spaces, One Rhythm

This experience unfolds across three distinct yet interconnected spaces in the heart of Olhão.

The Accommodation — Overlooking the Market & Sea

Six independent suites offer privacy, simplicity, and access to shared terraces overlooking the Ria Formosa.

Two rooftop pools invite you upward — one faces the sunrise, the other opens to the wide Algarve sky.

Inside, the house remains calm and uncluttered. White walls. Terracotta floors.

A shared kitchen looks out over the water — a place for morning tea, quiet conversation, and the gentle beginning of the day.

Our home for the week sits directly above Olhão’s iconic market and marina. From the terrace, you see the red dome rise against the sky, fishing boats drifting beyond, and the long horizon of the Ria Formosa.

Light changes constantly here.
So does the rhythm of the town below.

You are not removed from life.
You are woven gently into it.

From above, the residence reveals its terraces, rooftop pools and position above the market and marina — held between town and sea.

Morning Practice — From Water to Rooftop

We move as light changes.
We breathe with the horizon.

Nothing theatrical.
Just rhythm, warmth, and attention.

Each morning we begin by the water.

We gather where boats leave for the islands and walk together along the marina as the sky begins to change.

Qigong unfolds with the rising sun.
The tide shifts. Light widens. The town stirs.

Then we return slowly through Olhão’s quiet streets.

Yoga continues on the rooftop terrace — beneath open sky, close to the church bell tower, a quiet marker of time and continuity.

The Private Home — Evenings at the Table

Each evening we gather around the table in a private home, sharing a meal shaped by local ingredients and careful preparation.

Dishes arrive vibrant, generous, and attentive to the season.

Conversation unfolds easily in the pleasure of texture, aroma, flavour, and the quiet presence of the night.

If this resonates

If this resonates

You may be someone who senses that rhythm matters — in how you wake, how you breathe, how you eat, how you move through a day.

You may find yourself drawn toward deeper alignment — where understanding becomes practice and attention becomes presence.

You may appreciate yoga that is steady and attentive, food prepared with care, and mornings that begin in natural light.

You may feel curious about how small shifts — in light, timing, preparation, and pause — shape how the body meets the world.

This week is an invitation to return to rhythms that restore steadiness, clarity, and ease.

If this feels aligned, you’re warmly invited to reserve your suite below.

A Day in Rhythm

Each day follows a steady arc — intention at sunrise, spaciousness by afternoon, presence by evening.

Most mornings begin by the water at 6:40am. Qigong greets the rising light. We return through quiet streets for rooftop yoga, breakfast, and a short talk that connects light, food, and lived rhythm.

Afternoons open. Evenings gather — sometimes around a shared table, sometimes left free.

No two days are identical.

The rhythm remains.

Morning (most days)

Sunrise Qigong by the water.

A slow walk through town.

Rooftop yoga beneath open sky.

Breakfast.

A short talk.

Midday

Time to swim or rest — interwoven with guided visits across the Ria Formosa, the Algarve salt pans, and nearby olive groves.

Evening

Either a shared table in a private home

or a free evening with thoughtful restaurant suggestions.

Across the week, rhythm unfolds across salt, sea, and land.

Salt

Guided exploration of the Algarve salt pans, including a natural mineral float (Dead Sea-style).

The Calming Ritual

40 mins — €35

Head, Neck & Shoulder Massage

A deeply soothing, seated massage designed to ease tension and gently settle the nervous system. Using slow, intentional touch and mindful pacing, this treatment helps release stored stress in the upper body — an area that so often carries the weight of responsibility and thought.

Your Guides

This week is held by a small, experienced team committed to rhythm, steadiness, and attentive presence.

Layo Oladapo Fasan, mBANT, rCNHC

Layo is the founder of PhiNutriomics and creator of The Gentle Terrain Guide™. Her work bridges nutrition, environment, and lived rhythm, exploring how regeneration arises when we reduce interference and return to what already works.

She sees wellbeing as participation — in community, in landscape, and in the quiet intelligence of the body itself.

Her retreats create the conditions for this to unfold naturally, through rhythm, relationship, and attentive presence.

Sadie Brewin 200hr RYT

Yoga & Somatic Guide

Sadie, a Trauma-informed Wellbeing Practitioner, brings over two decades of experience in holistic wellbeing, supporting individuals and groups with a steady, compassionate presence. Alongside her private practice, she continues to work within the NHS and with charitable organisations, integrating professional insight with embodied care.

Her sessions weave together yoga, gentle somatic movement, breathwork, and meditation — always grounded in nervous system awareness and attentive pacing.

Sadie teaches from the understanding that when the body feels safe, it naturally begins to soften and reorganise. Through steady movement and breath, participants reconnect with both themselves and their surroundings — creating the conditions for regeneration to arise without force.

Soft-spoken yet quietly strong, she guides practice in a way that anchors you in both self and space — never pushing, always listening.

Dr Juju Knee, MB BChir

Morning Qigong & Mindful Movement

Juju joins the retreat with a medical background and a longstanding commitment to supporting others with attentiveness and care.

Having trained in Qigong and Tai Chi during time spent in China, and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, she brings a gentle, structured approach to morning movement. The Qigong sessions are not formal classes, but a shared exploration — learning a full sequence together over the week and eventually moving in quiet synchrony by the sea.

Drawn to forms of care that are relational and embodied, she now focuses on practices that restore steadiness and inner balance. Her presence is calm, thoughtful, and quietly strong — inviting participants into rhythm without pressure or performance.

Together, we bring complementary perspectives — terrain, movement, and embodied awareness — woven with steadiness and respect for each participant’s pace, allowing regeneration to unfold naturally.
